The
pillar of LuxInTec is its high power LED technology. At any certain
time we have seen or heard of an LED, for example in the front of our
television sets. A LED is no more than a Light
Emitting Diodeconceived as a way to
generate light. It was developed by the means of materials and
technologies used in the production of electronic chips. This
technology has evolved enormously since its introduction during the
60s with its first red LED, moving to the green LED in the 70s, until
the introduction of the blue LED during the 90s, which made possible
the creation of the white light. Nevertheless all of these had a
common denominator, a low illumination potency, which limited its
application to mere signalling.
Thanks
to different technological advances in electronics in the growth and
generation of semiconductors, it has been possible during the late
90s the creation of LED's that had the
capacity to generate light enough for the application of
illumination. These LED's are called High Power LED's.
Just as its functional
point of view, luminaire development and applications of light, the
numerous advantages of High Power LED as a light source make it
progressively substitute whichever other conventional light emitting
technology such as incandescent lights, discharge lights or
florescent.
Hereafter we will detail
the principal characteristics that are attainable with the design
capabilities, conception of products and new applications for
illumination never before though possible.
